Gina Roitman (1948‒ ) was born in Germany to two Holocaust survivors, living at the Pocking-Waldstadt Displaced Persons Camp prior to emigrating to Canada while she was still a child. She has had a lively, diverse career, working in many different fields before eventually becoming a creative writer and editor. She is the author of the collection of linked stories entitled Tell Me a Story, Tell Me the Truth (2008), the biography of Gary Bromberg, Midway to China and Beyond (2018), and the director of the documentary film My Mother, the Nazi Midwife, and Me. Roitman’s shorter works have appeared in several anthologies and magazines. She has won awards as an author, editor, and biographer.
