Danila Botha (1982‒ ) was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on 14 October. She is a fiction writer living in Toronto, Ontario. Botha studied Creative Writing at York University, and at Humber’s School For Writers. She earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Guelph University. Botha’s published works include her first collection of short stories, Got No Secrets (2010), her debut novel, Too Much on the Inside (2015), and her sophomore collection of short stories, entitled For All the Men (and Some of the Women) I’ve Known (2016). She is currently working on another novel, as well as a new collection of short stories. Got No Secrets was named one of Britannica’s Books of the Year (Canadian short stories), Too Much on the Inside won a Book Excellence Award for Contemporary Novel and was shortlisted for the 2016 ReLit award, and her second collection of short stories was a finalist for the Trillium Awards in 2017, and was also shortlisted for the ReLit awards and for the Vine Awards for Canadian Jewish Literature. Botha teaches Creative Writing at the Humber School for Writers and at the University of Toronto.
