Sidura Ludwig is a novelist and short story writer. She grew up in the Jewish community of Winnipeg, Manitoba. As an undergraduate student, she studied English and Creative Writing at York University, and then earned a Masters in Journalism from Carleton University. Ludwig’s published works include a novel, Holding My Breath (2007), and a collection of short fiction, You Are Not What We Expected (2020). She was a finalist for the Carol Shields Winnipeg Book Award and for the CBC Cross Canada Bookshelf. Ludwig’s short fiction is featured in literary journals, magazines, and anthologies. She also has non-fiction work published in Canadian newspapers and on CBC Radio. Ludwig has been teaching creative writing to children since she was eighteen, and consistently searches for new opportunities for learning and studying. Outside of writing, she is a communications specialist. Ludwig is currently an MFA student in the Writing for Children and Young Adults at Vermont College of Fine Arts, and lives in Thornhill with her family.
