Sharon Drache (1943–) was born in Toronto. She obtained an Arts degree in 1965, followed by a graduate diploma in Child Study in 1966, both from the University of Toronto. Drache was married from 1965–1990 and had four children. Her first publication, a collection of stories published in 1984, is titled The Mikveh Man and Other Stories. Drache continued to publish; Ritual Slaughter was published in 1989, and The Golden Ghetto published was in 1993. Drache then published two children’s books, The Magic Pot and The Lubavitchers Are Coming to Second Avenue, published in 2003 and 2006, respectively. Her most recent publication, a collection of short stories Barbra Klein Muskrat–then and now, was published in 2012. As a literary journalist, Drache has also published in many newspapers, magazines, and literary journals over the years. She continues to work as a literary journalist, with a passion for teaching and mentorship of creative writing.
