Ronna Bloom was born in Montreal, and now lives and works in the Toronto area. She works as a poet, a mentor, a guest speaker, a psychotherapist, a photographer, and a videographer. Bloom has published six collections of poetry, starting with Fear of the Ride, published in 1990, and followed by Personal Effects (2000), Public Works (2004) and Permiso (2009). Her most recent collections, Cloudy with a Fire in the Basement and The More, were published in 2012 and 2017, respectively. Bloom has been nominated for many Canadian Literary Awards and has been featured on CBC.
