Nessa Rapoport is an author and poet. She has published the novel Preparing for Sabbath (1989), a collection of prose poems: A Woman’s Book of Grieving (1994), anda memoir: House on the River (2004). Most recently, Rapoport published another novel, entitled Evening (2020). She also co-edited ‒ with Ted Solotaroff ‒ the anthology The Schocken Book of Contemporary Jewish Fiction. Rapoport’s stories and essays have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, and Forward, and are included in many anthologies.
