Lilian Nattel (1956‒ ) is a writer living in Toronto, Ontario. She began writing at a young age, and quit her career as an accountant when her first novel, The River Midnight (1999), became successful. She has continued to write award-winning novels about, in her own words, “extraordinary women.” Nattel utilizes her own experiences of being the daughter of Holocaust survivors to create characters who have known trauma and use their experiences for the beauty of bringing others to light and friendship. She has written four novels, including her aforementioned debut, The Singing Fire (2004), Web of Angels (2012), and Girl at the Edge of Sky (2019).
