Set in Dublin, Ireland, in the 1950s, the story concerns a young woman torn between her desire to follow her man to Canada, and, being the only daughter, her duty (as her married siblings see it) to stay and care for her mother. The play's director described it as follows: "All members of the family express their views with intensity and humour--no holding back in this household!
