Four grade-12 students are on their way home from a disastrous appearance on a high school quiz show. Conceited Eric blames the others for their failure. Trying to avoid going home to face his family and friends, he pretends his car has broken down. His ruse backfires when they discover that the car really won't start. The four, who have nothing in common except their mutual hostilities, are forced to spend an evening together in the middle of nowhere.
