The play opens with a woman stumbling and falling with a man close behind her, who bends over her, and then leaves. The play is about five witnesses whose narrative to the police unveils how their life stories impact their interpretation of the event. It closes with the woman revealing what happened, but it's up to the audience to decide if the man first seen was going to help or hurt her.
