Olivia Harrison

Olivia Harrison is a fourth year University of Guelph student participating in the On the Record Project: A Community History of Guelph. She grew up south of Ottawa and moved to Guelph in 2014 to start her University Career. Initially starting a degree in Environmental Governance, Olivia is now studying Geography and History at the University and hopes to continue a role in historical research and landmark conservation. This summer Olivia has obtained a position with the Wellington County Museum, where she will be working on exhibits, adapting new school programmes and conducting research projects on the Centre Wellington County.

Some of Olivia’s work may also be found on the Rural Diary Archive as she has transcribed journals from the 1860’s onwards, specifically focusing on David Allans Mill and Distillery, which was established in the mid 1800’s. The Mill and Distillery is located downtown Guelph and is the home of the new Metalworks initiative which is working on restoring and reopening the distillery.
