Description: This was a painting assignment that I did in Fall2020. It is a self-portrait of myself sitting on the toilet scrolling through my phone. I think this photo relates to a lot of people nowadays. Rather than looking at a magazine, we are constantly looking at our technological devices, espcially during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are relying on our devices in order to communicate with others around the world. This self-portrait is emphasising the consistant of being at home, our devices are our entertainment and somehow have slowly forgotten what is the outside of our home. Due to zoom calls, some people have shared our personal space with others , and it has become a normal behaviour to be ourselves, rather than putting a face on to interact with others.
