"Out at School is a verbatim theatre piece based on interviews conducted with Canadian LGBTQ families about their experiences in schools. To date, our team of artist researchers have completed 36 interviews with families living in four different cities in Ontario and the suburbs and rural communities that surround them. The interviews are available at www.lgbtqfamiliesspeakout.ca. The piece contains eleven verbatim monologues, a set of visual images to accompany the monologues, and two original songs which draw on a number of themes embedded in the monologues. In each verbatim monologue, the words of the people who were interviewed have been transcribed, edited, arranged, and re-contextualized so they can be performed on stage " (http://www.taragoldstein.com/recent-performances.html). Out at School is co-written with Pam Baer and Jenny Salisbury.
