Unless you know what you are looking for, it's hard to 'discover' materials in libraries these days; self-checkout has reduced staff; ease of access in critical for students using libraries; digital training is important for youth to ensure they can evaluate information resources; Digital Divide is a HUGE issue in Canada (low income and rural communities); myth of the digital native--most students don't totally comprehend digital technologies; students of all ages lack research/library training and this issue compounds as they advance through school; libraries need to market their wares; concerns over digital access in highschool and post-secondary libraries; information knowledge is assumed to be 'natural' in this day and age, but it must be learned.
