which would accommodate about 
100 comfortably, with three toilets 
for the entire room.
The plight of all the 
prisoners was terrible in the 
extreme and particularly that of 
those nationalities who came 
from countries which were under 
the iron heel of Fascism. We 
had something to look forward to
----- they hadn't. From this 
living hell they at some time will 
be taken to another. At 
present there is one phrase
which aptly describes them ----
the living dead. Indeed, my 
personal opinion is that these 
unfortunate men would be better 
off in their graves and endure
what is in store for them.
