the mornings, beans and lentils for dinner and supper and sardines that most of the time we could not eat. The treatment was still worse, for no reason at all, sticks and whips were flying every day, the commandant of the camp was on old man and promised us time after time that beatings would stop but the sergeants carried on just the same our stay there was just plain misery, so, what more can be said about it. At the present there are about 200 germans, austrians, poles, chechs and italians in San Pedro now that fascism reign in Spain. the lives of those men is in grave danger, if sent back to their respectif countries, most of them will face a firing squad others emprisonment in Concentration camps for how long, who knows? If they remain in Spain??
