36 Spain in connection with projects sponsored by it and that money collected for activities initiated and sponsored by the Committee be paid to the Committee and disbursed as Committee funds. “3. That, subject to the forgoing, participating organizations may carry on their own campaigns for projects sponsored by the Committee. That remit- tances of proceeds and accounts in connection with such campaigns may be between the National and local bodies of the organization concerned. In such case receipts for money as remitted to the Committee to Aid Spanish Democracy as a result of such campaigns be to the National office making the remittance. “4. That, the local work be carried on by the local bodies of the partici- pating organisations. That where local Committees exist they shall be- come co-ordinating Committees. That wherever a group of people who are not connected with, or prepared to join with, any of the organizations already participating are prepared to help in our Work they shall be encouraged to form a local group or Committee. Such groups or Commit- tees may be directly connected with the National Committee to Aid Spanish Democracy, and may remit their funds direct to it and have representation on the local co-ordinating Committees as other organiz- ations. Mr. MacLeod reported on behalf of the Commission on Hospitals and Medical Aid, and submitted the following proposals: That we recommend: “1. The establishment of a Medical Aid Bureau. of the Committee to Aid Spanish Democracy in Canada, co-operating with Central Sanitaire in Paris to develop a campaign for the maintainance of a 100 bed hospital in Spain and the continued support of Blood Transfusion Service. “2. To set as an objective of $2,500.00 per month for hospital and $500.00 per month for Blood Transfusion Service, a total of $3,000.00 per month. “3. That the objective be accomplished by:- National Organizations setting themselves a certain portion of the total objective in the form of a definite sum of money for hospital boots, linen, etc. Local units of the Committee to Aid Spanish Democracy to establish Medical Bureaus. “4. That this Bureau maintain its own treasurery and submit regular reports to the Committee to Aid Spanish Democracy, and to be directly represented on that Committee. It was moved by Mr. Sam Carr seconded by Mr. Tim Buck that part one and two of the recommendation be adopted. CARRIED.
