After been captured I was sent to a concentration camp near Burgos called San Pedro de Cardena from the first day till the day I left the treatment was of the worst kind a day never passed that one or more of the International was beaten up for no reason at all other than there general hate of the working class. The food in itself is enough to have the camp closed down it was a dut[?] of beans + sardines the fish was not cooked and in most cases rotten. The eating of this fish caused sores, which could not be cured All these meal if they can be called meals were eaten in the open the condtion[?] of the weather had no effect.
