MacLeod who presented a verbal report of his visit to Spain. In this verbal statement Mr. MacLeod sug- gested the setting up of a Children’s Bureau and a Medical Bureau as part of the Committee to Aid Spanish Democracy. It was moved by Mr. Sam Carr seconded by Norman Freed that report of the Chairman be adopted as read, with the proviso that if any delegate wanted to refer to it during discussion that it will be permissible. CARRIED. It was moved by Mr. James M. Conner seconded by Mr. O. Morgan - That a Committee composed of T. Buck, B.H.Spence, and A. A. MacLeod be appointed to draft a strong resolution of protest against the action of General Franco sinking 12 refugee boats of refugees leaving Gijon. CARRIED. The Conference then adjourned for lunch.
