With the hundreds of men expected back soon, these amounts will be tremendously increased.
Every returned man declared by the examining physicians as unfit to work or for whom.medical treatments or rest are prescribed receives $6. weekly for the period prescribed. All others without occupational limitations receive $25. in four*weekly payments. All medical sup- plies are provided by the committee. The "Friends" committee also pays expenses of the men while in Toronto en~route home, and fares from Toronto to home town.
Our Medical Committee consists in Toronto of some 50 doctors, surgeons, specialists, opticians and dentists, etc. Local committees also have a number of medical men. All donate their services free.
IX-rays and drugs are provided at very reduced rates. We have had a
number of cases of free hospitalization, but in most cases we have to Pays '
