Ora Teague, who is the heroine of
a modern fairy tale. A few weeks
ago she was a waitress in a Los
Angeles coffee shop. Then Mrs-
Winifred Eaton Reeve, Univer-
sal’s eastern scenario editor, saw
her and now she is on the road to
-movie fame.

now in the stock company at Univer-
sal City.

Miss Teague, beautiful and eigh-
teen, -came to Los Angeles a year ago
from Amarillo, Texas, and commem-
orated her arrival by no attempt to
get into pictures. She hadn’t even
thought of it.

A position as waitress in one of the
coffee shops at the Ambassador pre-
sented itself, and though Miss Teague
had studied secretarial work, she took
it temporarily in order to chase old

  man Wolf from the door.

A few weeks ago, Winifred Eaton

§Reeve, Univei-sal’s eastern scenario
editor, dropped into MISS Teague’s

place of business. She was so im-
pressed with her beauty and poise that
a film test was arranged immediately.
Elinor Glyn also had noticed Miss
Teague, but before she could act, Mrs.
Reeve had whisked her out to Uni-
versal City.

When General Manager Raymond
L. Schrock saw the test, he agreed
with Mrs. Reeve that Miss Teague
had decided screen possibilities. Now
the spelling of the word has changed
from rolls to roles in Miss Teague’s
career.
